Working hard to fix M2U, use Classic M2U in the meantime
Categories: Maybank2u
Wow…We are so overwhelmed with your responses. We did not realise that you guys are so passionate about M2U. Thank you people.
We are aware that all of you are facing difficulties accessing M2U. Our whole team is on site fixing it at this very moment.
We know you are upset and angry. In the transition period, we have made the Classic M2U available for your convenience. You can access it by clicking the Classic M2U banner from the home page.
October 17th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
You didn’t realize that people are passionate about M2U? So you don’t understand your customers, and can’t plan an upgrade? Please provide bottom line, when will your site be functional?
October 17th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
Same comment as many others, the loading time is far too slow. I’m disappointed that you are having to fix this once you’ve launched the site, rather than testing it properly beforehand. I also notice that, when I go to the Classic site some of the functions don’t work. For instance I cannot do TT transfer any more. Just get something that says NASPI error 100, whatever that is. So, I agree with Nathan, when will the site be working, and when will you restore full functionality to the Classic site? This is important!
October 17th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Please focus on speed rather than design. Imagine we doing big transactions with slow loading speed, later the browser time out after 5 minutes. If money “transferred” but transactions no success. Who going to responsible? Who we should argue? Some more we may no able to get a copy of transaction’s result (print receipt or print screen) if time out and another party requesting for the copy. Please don’t treat maybank2u and users as a “white rat”. Thanks.
October 17th, 2008 at 5:10 pm
Hi Nathan, we *do* know and understand our customers like you. We appreciate your patience and you can use Classic M2U during this transition.
October 17th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
you guys better publish a post-report on the matter to justified what happened. total disappointment
phailed!!
October 17th, 2008 at 6:36 pm
my serious suggestion for M2u in the future : concentrate more on the speed and stability of the site before any other functions you people are planning.
a service with tons of function without accessible speed is just plain useless.
regards,
Hong
October 17th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
Why don’t you guys just keep the classic M2U and throw away your new M2U.
October 17th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
sila jangan terminate website lama sampai bila2, biar kami pilih website mana yang kami lebih suka gunakan, just like what yahoo did with their new email, they give us option to choose.
website baru sangat menyusahkan & sangat PERLAHAN!
yang paling utama ialah cepat, kecantikan benda nombor 2,3 dah, xpenting sangat cantik2 ni
cantik ke website baru?
October 17th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
This new GUI is way too heavy even for broadband to load. Please bear in mind that your customers are not loading the pages from your intranet. Fanciful pages with failure to launch is worse than simple HTML that works.
Hopefully maybank2u will not make a second mistake in the future.
October 17th, 2008 at 10:35 pm
Hi, really hope that the revamp M2U sites as fast as the old site. Nowadays beautiful site is nice but fast site is much nicer so that our mobile device can also access it without much hassle. Thanks.
October 18th, 2008 at 8:39 am
Thank you for letting us use Classic M2U. Am SO relieved, I could at last after several days, able to do my transactions! Because of the delay, I am going to end up paying interest to my creditor! Sheesh!
Anyway, please continue to allow us to use the Classic M2U. Its a million times better than the new one. We customers do not really care much about looks, it is the efficiency that counts. Sorry to burst your bubble!
October 18th, 2008 at 9:18 am
You guys should just direct everyone automatically to the classic M2U for the mean time. Shouldn’t start launching the new site yet when it’s still not fully perfect. Look into this or you will have many upset customers.
October 18th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Loan inquiry details better off to display remaining tenure as well, and also repayment history…much usefull information for the users..other bank already has this features. . .
October 18th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
slow.

Dear Maybank2U 2.0 Team,
Here are a couple of worthy suggestions for your website.
[SUGGESTION #1 - ICONS]
Consolidate all your fancy icons that is seen beside many of your product labels into one single image file. Use CSS to remap each icon to each label.
Your pages consist of average 15-30 individual “gif” files. Imagine having each visitor making 30+ http requests by just browsing one page on your site. This would introduce unnecessary bandwidth on your site.
[SUGGESTION #2 - LOGIN PROCESS]
Login process should be SIMPLIFIED. You should place the M2U login form on the main page of your website OR introduce a short subdomain/domain to access directly to your M2U login page, e.g.
http://www.maybank2u.com.my/login
OR
http://www.m2u.com.my
Your current URL is too long and too complicated.
https://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb/m2u/common/M2ULogin.do?action=Login
By the way, I am surprised you haven’t purchased the “http://www.m2u.com.my” domain yet.
[SUGGESTION #3 - KEYBOARD USERS]
Ensure your website can be navigated in a “keyboard-only” environment. I can’t navigate through each menu element or text element on your site by using my keyboards “TAB” button.
In fact, the reason why I raised this up is because I like to be able to “TAB” to your login button, and type my login id and password instantly, without having to move my hand back and forth between mouse and keyboard.
There are many keyboard users, although we have mouse!
[SUGGESTION #4 - FRAMES ARE EVIL]
I can’t copy and paste the URL of a specific page on your website. That’s because you have enclosed your entire site in one big tag. And no, I am not a big fan of the “Share This Page To Your Friend” button.
And because your entire site is within a , your website may fail to go through search engine crawling.
Please read up on this article: http://www.html-faq.com/htmlframes/?framesareevil
[SUGGESTION #5 - COSMETIC]
- The black background that suddenly exits into white background is a visual interruption to how human eye interacts with screen and how the mind performs content separation. Why don’t you just keep the black background to just the site header?
- You can do away with rounded corners, and still have a professional looking website done in square containers. Saves bandwidth too.
- Add clean light-gray horizontal divider between the different sections (Can we help?/Online Security/Agent M) on the right column of your site. To me, it’s a pile of unorganized mess.
- How about adding a small » arrow before the “More Savings Account, More Bill Payment, etc.” links?
The new Maybank2U website requires further usability assessment! I think it would help in improving your site.
Thank you!

October 19th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
I do preffer to use the previous M2U…it’s more easier and user friendly…don’t change it without prior notice…it’s hard for me to use the new M2u coz i need to attempt all the transaction and menu tarely and one more thing i’m not familiar with the new one…it takes so long time for me to pay my bilis or do my transaction that i can finished in 30 second..The reason why i chosed M2u is becoz of the classic M2u that is user friendly…hope maybank can change to the previous classic M2u immediately before it gives me headache…
October 20th, 2008 at 9:03 am
Dear admin,
Well, we’re all your client and customers, I hope that bad thing not happening, because this new interface looks under contructions still. I hope it just slow, not bugged, because 1 second there is hundred transactions completed.
Regards.

Dear maybank,
Just want to let you know regarding for maybank2u after change to new look / version that are running very slow when login.
Pls kindly double check with you progrommer.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
seem like all maybank2u link has beed forwarded to the GOOD OLD MAYBANK2u Classic.. thank you!
October 20th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Your stock trading application requires strange plugins. I can’t run it on my OS, which is Ubuntu Linux. Moving your services to the web means that everyone should be able to deal with you irrespective of what your customers operating systems are.
I tried installing IE6 on Linux, but the fonts did not show up properly.
I request that your team fix the stock trading facility to standard HTML/Javascript and not bother with the fancy non standard ActiveX widgets. See how google can do real time graphs, and integrated UI with Javascript.
Regards,
yk.
October 20th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
What happen to this new face lift of M2U? Loading time very slow.. I can’t even made a single transaction.. I hope you guy can work out with something. Focus on the users requirement.. Not your new fancy look.
Long live the Classic Version!
October 21st, 2008 at 9:56 am
Has this been fixed now or do I still have to use the “Classic M2U” ?
October 21st, 2008 at 10:36 am
How did you conduct the stress test by the way? The performance is too unacceptable and lots of low level bugs.
It has been 5 days since 17th Oct already, so how’s the new M2U status now?
October 21st, 2008 at 10:50 am
betul2 menyusahkan. bayar online kena caj?
October 21st, 2008 at 1:47 pm
October 21st, 2008 at 2:22 pm
It’s great to know that you guys are trying your best to fix the new enhanced M2U. It would be wonderful if you guys could add a column that will show the exact TIME for each transaction for the new M2U… Otherwise, it will be the same M2U with a different skin…
October 21st, 2008 at 4:13 pm
Hi, I am a long time user of M2U. Partly because you were the first ones with online banking. Sadly, almost every bank has online facilities now, and yours have become one of the most outdated online banking sites.
You may have the most number of payees, but your online features and services remain the same, while other banks have improved theirs.
I’m still waiting for M2U to provide PROPER transaction history detail. I use online banking a lot. M2U doesn’t give even basic information such as transaction time. I am not even asking for names or account numbers.
This is especially hard when I receive payment from others. Why can’t you provide that information while other banks can? I wrote in to comment on this and all I received was “We have no plans to change this”.
Please, give us more information so we can at least manage our online banking properly.

Hi Maybank2u Team,
There is a bug on the “Report Phishing Site” section. Once the user click the “report the phishing site” link, two form will appears, one in the background and the other one as a window pop-up. Please fix this bug.
October 21st, 2008 at 5:03 pm
I don’t think I need to complain about the speed now. Personally, I have some comments on your new portal. Yes, you got very nice design with very cool AJAX stuff. Good job! But, do I need all those stuff? Internet banking portal is all about money transactions. I don’t think I need a very fancy portal with very nice web 2.0 features, interactive contents and AJAX features. Adding all these features become a burden to it system architecture and performance. Are we going to have a “facebook” social network in M2U portal? The new website seems like need more clicks to reach my targeted page. Is it become more “user-friendly”?
All I want is get my thing done fast with simple and direct user-interface! Please think seriously in user point of view…
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:12 am
funny, you should not have migrated to the new m2u before a rigorous load test. now people are getting back the old/classic m2u which is faster and more reliable.
great work guys.
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:47 am
Finally… I can do my online over the “Classic Maybank2u”.
Btw, I had been trying out the “All New Maybank2u” before it go public.
And I actually “click” more then the “Classic Maybank2u” to do my banking.
I guess the team should look into this matter.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:28 pm
To M2U team,
Please DO MORE TESTING before launching. All the hoo-hah, padding each others bag for “so called” good job done is just useless. This marketing gimmick site doesn’t help either - just make the site more efficient, I can get to see my balance, I can transfer my funds, I can pay my bills - thats all I and EVERYONE ELSE wanted.
IF the M2U team really want to be “All About You: tagged, please-lar have multiple language lar. Kita-kan Masyarakat Berbilang Kaum!
Finally - and HOPEFULLY, don’t upgrade lar. The new site has made me appriciate how super the old site was. IF it ain’t broken - DON”T FIX IT.

Where i can find CyberMall site?Can u show/guide me?TQ
October 25th, 2008 at 8:17 am
I’ve called in 3 times to ask your customer service to rectify the problem as i was unable to logon to the login page…reason being the font displayed at my screen is really huge. Your personnel did called back to give me an address to logon on but can be done only on that particular day thereafter the classic logon was failed. Your personnel referred me to call my own computer guy as they are not well versed with technical problems…I have to say this abruptly as Maybank is such a gigantic company and don’t even have an IT or EDP dept to help layman customer like us?
Appreciate your understanding in this manner and hope that some assistance can be rendered in this instance.
October 25th, 2008 at 8:51 am
it seems everybody is complaining about speed.. But anybody ask about whats security features? Why is it slow?
Personally, with due respects to all of you.. hackers, scams comes in many ways to hack into the system. We see the warning everyday from the site. But still people got scammed.. its either they are illiterate or couldn’t be bothered. So what M2U is planning on doing is now probably trying to bypass all these illegal websites. They have to come up latest features to protect your accounts info. hence they have to upgrade into higher version..
so for those users who complaint about slow transaction i would say you may need to UPGRADE to your pc specs… PC now cheap-cheap what..
Another reason… maybe… sapa makan cili ras pedas la… sorry la… some user also use pirated OS softwares so when new things come in… OS slow loo… Even Microsoft has to put up patches every now and then.. this is all done for security reason.. those using pirated softwares wont see their softwares being updated.. right?? So… what to do.. pirated OS will have pirated results laa….. heeheee… so be patience la..
HAIL to M2U… Carry out the UPGRADE…
October 27th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Since these new changes i am unablr to cut and paste all my transcations satisfactorily. I really need this function to keep a record of all my banking. Extremely ESSENTIAL!!! No fancy new sites just efficient old system will do. As long as it works and is fast.
October 29th, 2008 at 10:37 am
Even I uses the classic M2U, I couldn’t check the Debit Card Transaction History anymore. Every time when I click View Debit Card Transaction, M2U gives me “Session Expired”, even though I just log in 10 seconds before. Are you guys really serious with M2U website?
November 1st, 2008 at 2:16 pm
Maybank should use the money spent on the shiny ad shown during primetime tv to upgrade the infrastructure instead, don’t you all think?
If the product is bad, no matter how much promo you spend on it, ppl will still eventually complain isn’t it?
On the other hand, if the product is good, it will sell itself!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:14 am
can u provide an option for us, either want to use classic or new m2u so that we don’t have to wait and complained and commented on your new m2u? people always said customer is always right. so pls consider my suggestion. thank u.
November 7th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Down again issit today? Can’t even login. I wonder did you guys really do an application testing before deployment. The entire tem should be sacked.
Why dont you just revert to the basic classic M2U. We want function over form, not the beautiful website. I would like to do my transaction under 1 minute.
Fix it. lah!!
November 12th, 2008 at 10:44 am
Why eSi doesn’t have loan payment, this is only usefule for HP or House loan
December 1st, 2008 at 12:19 pm
Feedback on the new M2U:
- The information is now very nicely organised and concise.. great for new users.. however..
- There’s too much clicking involved just to do a specific task..I was trying to make a 3rd party transfer and had to click about 3 times just to get to the right page…
- The quicklink dropdown is not very prominent.. I only noticed it AFTER i did all my transactions…
- It might be good to include sublinks to other frequently used tasks such as transferring to favourite accounts, etc instead of just a “Transfer” link..
December 2nd, 2008 at 11:11 pm
Please don’t remove the Classic one. I find it a lot more easier to manage.
I have to re login a few times to make a transaction with the new one. I think it is more complicated than the classic M2U.
Thank you.
December 5th, 2008 at 11:08 pm
I like the M2U new look. Actually whenever new things came out, people tends to dislike it. But soon after get familiar or get used to it, I am sure they will like it. Of course it should need some improvement to M2U from time to time.
January 9th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
Hi Suffian, once you have arrived at M2U home page, just go to “Online Banking” “Lifestyle & Leisure” and you will see the link to “CyberMall”
